Remembering John Richards
John Richards OAM sadly passed away in April 2023. John was a champion of rural ageing and aged care research in Australia. In 2007, John was a recipient of the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for ‘service to the community of the Moira Shire, particularly as a contributor to health sector development, and to the newsagency industry through the Victorian Authorised Newsagents Association’.
Continuing John Richards’ legacy
John Richards' vision to support ageing in country Victoria has been backed by his generous donation which enabled the establishment of The John Richards Centre for Rural Ageing Research at La Trobe University in Albury-Wodonga in 2007. The Centre continues to improve the health and wellbeing of rural older Australians, making a significant impact in rural ageing and aged care research. Your support will help to continue John’s vision.
Please note that donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia with all donations going directly to the John Richards Centre for Rural Ageing Research.
