Sculpture Workshop with Erin Hallyburton
Join us at La Trobe Art Institute for a materials workshop led by artist Erin Hallyburton, whose major works are presented in our current group exhibition, I wanna be your anti-mirror.
Erin Hallyburton will present a workshop investigating experimental materials in sculpture. She will be sharing some of her processes working with fats and clays in a layered, laminating technique, for making sculptures that are unfixed. Participants will be shown this process and supported through making their own fat and clay assemblage works, which they can take home with them.
Erin Hallyburton explores fat studies through what she terms a ‘fat critical lens’. For her works in I wanna be your anti-mirror, Erin has worked with bronze, cheese and liquorice to create a suite of works that puts forward a new framework for modernist tropes in sculpture.
This workshop is free to attend and strictly limited to 12 people. Book your spot for this free event by clicking on the link above.
