What you can expect to learn: The main aim of the summer camp is to give students a realistic and relevant view of studying and working in the health and sciences, particularly in regional Victoria. The two-day program will feature a mix of information sessions, practical hands-on lab experiments, group-based creative and critical thinking activities, and social events with other attendees, LTU professionals and academics, and local leaders in the field.

Information and Q&A sessions will detail the different courses and pathways offered by LTU Bendigo, including bachelor’s degrees in science, Biomedical Science, Pharmacy, Exercise Science, Nursing, Social Work and Dentistry and many other health and science courses. We will detail entrance requirements, how to manage VTAC preferences and expectations, and practice how to excel at entrance interviews and activities. Attendees will meet and be able to talk to current and past LTU students, and industry leaders about their university experience and their careers in Rural Health professions.

Practical lab experiments will expose students to university-level activities, as well as some of our world-class research facilities and projects. This will help prepare the students for Year 12 study, giving them tips for a successful year, as well as an introduction to some of the key big concepts in health and science. Students will have a chance to experience the types of classes held in our onsite laboratories, lecture theatres and classrooms.
