About Nexus

Nexus is a first-of-its-kind pathway into teaching. You will gain practical experience in a school setting, while transitioning from your current career.

Nexus students take part in an accelerated 18-month (or 2 year) Master of Teaching (Secondary) or Master of Teaching (Primary), whilst undertaking paid employment in schools. On top of your salary, Nexus students also benefit from financial support.

The Nexus program fosters a close community of practice including academic support, school mentors and professional development in social justice areas.

We work in partnership with schools and local communities to train teachers for economically, culturally diverse and hard-to-staff schools in both Victoria and New South Wales.

Nexus is delivered as part of the High Achieving Teachers Program with the support of the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment as part of its investment in Initial Teacher Education.

Applications are now open for the Nexus Master of Teaching (Primary) Semester 2, 2024 in both NSW and Victoria. Please find more information on how to apply for Nexus at the links below.
