Chinese students gathering

At the beginning of semester 2, Chinese students gathered at the invitation of the La Trobe Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA). Around one hundred students attended the event eager to catch up with old friends, make new friends and watch the artistic performances.

‘The aim of this type of event is to bring together new Chinese students and students that have already been studying at La Trobe undergraduate or postgraduate,’ said Mr Yu Feng Zhou, the President of CSSA.

A well organised entertainment program was put together for the guests. There was singing, dancing, games and not to mention delicious Chinese food. Most of all students enjoyed the relaxing conversation in their mother tongue. Many phone numbers and contact details had been exchanged by the end of the party.

‘This event helped Chinese students in their transition to adjust to uni life and provided them with a good opportunity for social engagement,’ says Huang Dong Ping, the President of the La Trobe University Postgraduate Association (LUPA).
