On 11 January a Korean delegation from Baewha Women’s University (BWU) visited La Trobe with the purpose of strengthening the relationships between the two institutions by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.


The Korean guests, Baehwa Women’s University President Kim Chung Gil, the Dean of Academic Affairs, Professor Myung Gyu Koh and Global Edu Links President, Mr JK Kim were welcomed by
La Trobe Deputy Vice Chancellor (International and Future Students), Professor John Rosenberg, Associate Director Marketing and Recruitment, Mr Abizer Merchant and International Development North Asia Manager, Mr John Qiu.

The agreement signing took place in the Mandala room at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus. The two universities agreed to collaborate in the areas of academic research and teaching and facilitate exchange and cooperation between staff of both institutions. This agreement will facilitate the negotiation of future specific projects, programs and student exchanges. The signing was followed by a tour of the La Trobe Bundoora campus and dinner.
