Be a leader! (Issue 16, 2009)
Students participating in the 2009 Infinity Leadership Program
The Infinity Leadership Program is a 12-month pilot program open to undergraduate students in their final year of study, mature-aged, postgraduate students and now, recent graduates. Entry is based on a combination of criteria including evidence of previous community engagement, academic excellence and interview performance.
Eddie Custovic, a PhD Electronic Engineering student that participated in the first program says: ‘I believe the program has improved my leadership skills, but most of all it has allowed me to share experiences with fellow students who have experienced similar challenges in their careers. The program not only exposes students to leadership in a variety of fields, it allows them to express their opinions and improve their communication skills.’
‘One of the main objectives of the Infinity Leadership Program is to connect current La Trobe University students with the wider La Trobe community of staff, alumni and other students. By participating in the Infinity Leadership Program, students will be able to develop their leadership skills and knowledge through the experience of learning from others with different backgrounds and views to their own’ says Ms Ruth Delagas, the Alumni Manager and one of the organisers of the program.
Applications for the 2010 Infinity Leadership Program are now open.
