Course description
This course aims to give students the knowledge and skills essential to research, enabling them to advance careers in research and scholarship. However, entry is not contingent on an applicant having access to employment or clinical placement in a speciality field.
Please note: Applicants intending to undertake subjects requiring clinical practice must obtain the course coordinator's approval, and meet the hospital assessment of competency and registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
Course structure
Students complete 120 credit points at level 5 (Master's level subjects), and 60 credit points via a thesis. The program offers an exit option at Postgraduate Diploma level (120 credit points). The first stage of the Master program comprises two speciality subjects and one of the following subjects: Clinical Project, Comprehensive Health Assessment, or Industry Program. The second stage comprises an additional 60 credit points normally including a Research Foundations subject and two research processes subjects.
