Course description
The course enables qualified nurses to extend and deepen their knowledge of cancer/palliative care nursing, as it occurs in a variety of settings and as it relates to advanced nursing knowledge. Applicants are expected to work in an area of cancer/palliative care nursing for the duration of the course.

Course structure
Exit options are available at two levels: Graduate Certificate (three core subjects) and Postgraduate Diploma (one core subject and two electives). The former enables students to specialise in cancer/palliative care nursing; the Postgraduate Diploma offers the option to specialise in a secondary area of interest. Applicants undertaking the Master must complete 120 credit points (out of 180) at level 5; that comprise of either a group of subjects as a major stream of study, a clinical project or minor thesis.
Contact hours
There is no direct face-to-face contact hours. Day-to-day contact with the coordinator is via the interactive Learning Management System (LMS), e-mail or telephone.

Prerequisites
Applicants must be a Division 1 Registered Nurse and hold a current practising certificate with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) or equivalent.
