Course description
This course prepares qualified nurses to care for people with breast cancer - from the time of screening to diagnosis, and throughout the disease trajectory. It incorporates the latest developments in research, treatments and psychosocial support.

Course structure
Exit options are available at two levels: Graduate Certificate (three core subjects) and Postgraduate Diploma (one core subject and two electives). The former enables students to specialise in breast care nursing; the latter offers the option of specialising in a secondary area of interest. Students undertaking the Master of Nursing (Breast Care) must complete 120 credit points (out of a total of 180) at level 5, with either a group of subjects as a major stream of study, a clinical project or minor thesis.
Contact hours
There is no fact-to-face contact time. Day-to-day contact with coordinator is via LMS, email or telephone.

Prerequisites
Registration as a Division 1 Nurse and current practising certificate with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) or equivalent.
