Course description
This course provides students with the in-depth knowledge and skills required to practise in contemporary acute care nursing. It offers a strong evidence base, supported by appropriate clinical skill development, along with the necessary life-long learning skills. Specialty subjects enable students to undertake focused and advanced clinical studies. Students are also expected to undertake supervised and assessed clinical practice.
Course structure
Exit options are available at two levels: Graduate Certificate (three core subjects) and Postgraduate Diploma (one core subject and two electives). The former enables students to specialise in acute care nursing; the Postgraduate Diploma offers the option to specialise in a secondary area of interest.
Applicants undertaking the Master degree must complete 120 credit points (out of 180) at level 5 comprising either a group of subjects as a major stream of study, a clinical project, or minor thesis.

Prerequisites
Registration as a Division 1 Nurse and current practising certificate with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) or equivalent.
