Course description
This course aims to prepare midwives to undertake an advanced practice role and provides them with sound research training.
Please note the course will only be conducted if sufficient enrolments are achieved.
Course structure
This is a 120 credit point award consisting of three core 20-credit point subjects: Advanced Midwifery Practice, Childbirth and Well being, and a research subject; in addition students carry out either a 60 credit point thesis of approximately 15 000 words, or alternatively one elective subject from the list of current subjects offered in the Master of Nursing, and a 40 credit point clinical project.

Prerequisites
Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery Science or equivalent, with minimum B grade average, and eligibility for endorsement as a midwife in Division 1 of the Register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Applicants must also have at least one year's recent clinical practice in midwifery and be employed in an approved area of midwifery practice.
