Course description
This course provides specialised training in the high demand areas of computer networks, biomedical engineering, communications engineering, distributed computing, electronic systems engineering, microelectronics design, mobile communications, optical engineering, and wireless networks.
This course may be offered under a different program in 2012 subject to CRICOS approval. International students need to check the course status before making an application.
Course structure
Students complete subjects in electronic engineering and computer science, and an electronic engineering project. Specialist computer networks subjects include Pervasive Network Design, Communication Protocol Engineering, Mobile and Pervasive Computing , and Wireless Network Engineering. Specialist electronic engineering subjects include Biomedical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Microelectronics, and Optical Engineering.

Four-year engineering degree or Honours degree in science in an appropriate field (or equivalent degree, which provides a background in digital logic, computer architecture, mathematics at second-year level and programming skills in C or C++). Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be considered, after successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma in Electronic Engineering.
