Course description
This program offers applicants with limited experience in outdoor or environmental education the opportunity to choose subjects according to their needs. Applicants with an outdoor or environmental education degree can extend their expertise into a new area, or add depth of knowledge in a specialist area.
A wide range of subjects is available, including Outdoor Education Experience, Outdoor Education Concepts, Bush Environments, River Environments, Winter Alpine Environments, Rock Environments, and Education and Sustainability. The course includes both the theoretical depth and integrated practical work for which the La Trobe's outdoor education program is internationally-renowned.
Course structure
The course comprises 120 credit points, spread over four core subjects and four outdoor and/or environmental education electives.

Special outdoor clothing and camping equipment for fieldwork worth up to
A$1500. Any items purchased remain the property of the student.
Prerequisites
Bachelor degree, Diploma, or equivalent, and skills in camping and activities such as rock-climbing or flat-water canoeing. Applicants must also provide a medical certificate substantiating their ability to handle strenuous activity in remote areas.
