Course description
This course involves study in the discipline of education. It does not constitute a recognised qualification for teaching in schools, but provides further studies for teachers and a pathway to primary or secondary teacher education courses or to postgraduate or Masters' programs in education.
For people involved in teaching at any level, this is a teacher development course. It may either add a specialist qualification for teachers who are already registered or lead to further study opportunities in the broad field of education.
Course structure
The course requires completion of 60 credit points, which can be made up of 10, 15 or 20-credit-point subjects selected from the Faculty of Education. Subjects are available in areas such as classroom management, curriculum and pedagogy, student welfare, literacy education, cultural studies and information and communication technology.
