Course description
This globally-accredited course covers a broad spectrum of issues across tourism and hospitality industries, and emphasises the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed for effective tourism and hospitality management. It aims to give students the broadest possible career options by combining a solid business degree - encompassing areas such as accounting, marketing and economics - with specialised tourism and hospitality studies. In 2011, this program was awarded three-year EPAS Accreditation.
Course structure
Students take eight compulsory subjects in first year, seven compulsory subjects and one elective in second year, and five compulsory subjects and three electives in third year.

Melbourne campus: Students are required to purchase a basic hospitality uniform at a cost of approximately A$150. This can be purchased from any supplier, and remains the student's personal property.

Re-ranking is based on prerequisite studies, Business (any), LOTE (any), and Rural and Regional Student Access Scheme criteria.

Non-Year 12 selection may involve: ENTER/ATAR, Pi form, GPA, STAT Multiple Choice.
Extra requirements
Non-Year 12 applicants must complete and submit a VTAC Pi form if they wish other information to be considered during the selection process. This may include information such as work experience or reasons for applying. Applicants may wish to provide other documentation in support of their application.
Prerequisites
VCE Units 3 and 4: study score of at least 25 in English (ESL) or 20 in any English.

Career opportunities
Graduates are likely to find diverse career opportunities. Those choosing to work in tourism may find employment in the airline industry, coach companies, cruise liners, holiday resorts, tourist attractions, ecotourism, event and conference management, international sporting events and festivals, government tourism organisations, and wholesale and retail tourism. Those choosing to work in hospitality may find roles as managers of hotels, motels, resorts, restaurants, clubs, large catering facilities and convention centres.
