Course description

This program is designed for professionals with a particular interest in furthering their knowledge in the practice and/or theory of education, Deaf studies and language studies.

Course structure

Students can complete the coursework degree in one of two ways:

1) Coursework comprising six subjects. Four subjects are assessed via a 5000-word essay (or equivalent); the remaining two are examined via a research essay of 12,000-15,000 words. Students who achieve a high B average for the first two subjects may apply to transfer to coursework and minor thesis.

2) Three subjects and a minor thesis of 15,000-20,000 words.

Prerequisites

Candidates with a three-year Bachelor degree are eligible for entry to a two-year program (240 credit points). Applicants to the one-year program (120 credit points) or to research candidature should have a Bachelor of Education, Honours degree, or specialised Graduate Diploma from a recognised university or institution.
