Course description

This course is designed for people working in educational contexts who wish to extend their understanding of bilingual and bicultural practices in the education of the Deaf. Students also have an opportunity to develop their knowledge of AUSLAN.

Course structure

Studnets complete a total of six subjects. Students enrol in one of three streams: Language, Teaching or LOTE, and omplete six subjects, including two core subjects. Subjects include Literacy and Numeracy Development For Deaf And Hearing Impaired Students, and Curriculum Issues in the Development of Bilingual, Bicultural Teaching Programs.

Prerequisites

Recognised teaching qualification. Applicants who can demonstrate practical experience in the field of Deaf education may be considered for Special Entry.
