Course description
This course provides professionals working in a wide variety of settings (including health, education and welfare, occupational and industrial arenas) with a comprehensive introduction to rehabilitation concepts and practices. It is designed to prepare students from a range of health and human service delivery backgrounds to work with populations characterised by chronic illness or disability. It aims to develop an approach to rehabilitation service delivery focused on client involvement, coordination of services, and the maintenance of individuals in the community. Content reflects recent developments in rehabilitation at Commonwealth and state level, including occupational and community-based rehabilitation systems.
NOTE: There may be changes to this course in 2011, subject to University approval.
Course structure
Students complete four subjects from the Postgraduate Diploma. Subject choice is flexible; students develop their own program in consultation with the course coordinator (including at least two core subjects).

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in the health sciences or related area. Applicants with relevant industry experience are also considered.
