Course description
This is a studio-based program with associated theoretical studies; it brings candidates to a high level of practice and informed critical aesthetic judgement in visual arts or design. Discipline offerings include ceramics (Bendigo only), drawing, graphic design, illustration, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture (Mildura only).

Scholarships

IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or
TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or
TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or
TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or
Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from the La Trobe University Language Centre; or
Approved equivalent.
Academic entry requirements
Applicants must have completed an Australian Bachelors degree with Honours at H1 or H2A level, or approved international equivalent. Applicants with Honours at H2B level, or equivalent, may be considered in some instances.

Additional information
Candidates’ progress is reviewed annually. Final assessment of the thesis is by two or more examiners, of whom at least one is external. The thesis must demonstrate competence in conducting and reporting research work under supervision, and mastery of the chosen topic at a high level.
