Course description
This course leads to an advanced qualification in teaching English to speakers of other languages. It is also relevant for those seeking to undertake applied research relevant to their professional responsibilities and interests in the area of TESOL and applied linguistics.
Course structure
Students may choose either coursework or a combination of coursework and a minor thesis. The first year may be satisfied by completion of an approved relevant Graduate Diploma or equivalent. The final year contains 120 credit points, and can be completed by coursework or a combination of 60 credit points of coursework and a minor thesis. At least one research methodology subject is core for all Masters' programs.

IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or
TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or
TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or
TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or
Approved equivalent.
Academic entry requirements
A three or four-year Australian Bachelor's degree, or approved international equivalent.

Additional information
Advanced Standing (credit) of up to 120 credit points may be granted towards the 240 credit point program based on previous studies and relevant professional experience.
