Course description
The La Trobe MBA is the first in Australia to have been awarded the prestigious EPAS Accreditation by the European Foundation for Management Development. It is also ranked in the global top 100 MBA programs in the Beyond Grey Pinstripes ranking. The curriculum is designed to deliver modern and responsible business leaders who have the expertise to develop and sustain competitive advantages for their organisations. The program focuses on the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Management Education, general management skills and comprehensive personal and professional skills development.
The program is structured to suit the lifestyle of working professionals, with most classes taught during evenings, weekends or in block mode across weekends. An intensive summer semester allows every student to tailor the MBA to their needs.
The course builds on a long tradition of flexible delivery, with two intakes per year and different delivery modes (standard, flexible and accelerated options) allow students to shape their studies to match their interests and goals.
Course structure
The curriculum comprises 12 subjects - eight core subjects and four electives; it also includes mandatory professional experiences.
Core subjects aim to give students broad management skills expected of general managers in contemporary organisational settings, including international study tours and community development projects.
Electives give students the opportunity either to specialise in a particular area of interest, or to diversify their skills - with an extensive list on offer.
Unique built-in professional experience, e.g. 'E-portfolio' allows students to reflect on the application of their learning as well as develop their own careers, whilst the 'Boardroom Simulation' is a 24-hour simulation in-residence, where students are challenged with real-world scenarios that they need to solve and present to members of the School's advisory board.
The flexible summer semester allows students to accelerate their MBA and complete in 12 months.
