Course description
This course gives students the broad range of skills required to succeed in the rapidly developing field of biotechnology, and provides the ideal molecular biotechnology background for students who want to complement their biotechnology skills with legal or business studies.
Course structure
Students undertake four semesters' (18 months) study, including a summer semester, completing subjects to the value of 180 credit points.

Scholarships

IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or
TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or
TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or
TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or
Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from La Trobe Melbourne; or
Approved equivalent.
Academic entry requirements
Approved international qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor's degree containing at least two years (four semesters) of biology and at least one of biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, cell biology, genetics, biotechnology, botany, pharmacology or pharmacy.

Semester 1 and 2 (February and July)
Additional information
The Master of Biotechnology program will not qualify students to enrol in a PhD.
