Course description
This course offers an innovative, high-quality legal education with a strong global and social justice perspective and an emphasis on practical experience. It includes all the compulsory law subjects required by the Council of Legal Education for admission to practice in Victoria, and a wide range of law electives, including subjects relevant to science such as Intellectual Property Law, Law and Medicine, and Psychology and Law.
Students can choose science subjects from a wide range of disciplines including chemistry, computer science, electronics, genetics, psychology, and mathematics. But pllease note majors at Bendigo are limited to biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, psychological science and statistics.
Course structure
Students complete 15 compulsory subjects and seven electives in law, and science electives worth a minimum of 60/maximum of 90 credit points in first year, a minimum of 80 credit points in second year and a minimum of 90 credit points in third year. Honours is offered to high-achieving students; Honours in Law is available in the final year, while Honours in Science requires an additional year's full-time study.

Depending on subjects , approximate costs include: laboratory coat - A$30, dissecting kit - A$40. Students can purchase these items from any supplier; they remain students' personal property.
Selection

IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or
TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English; or
TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or
TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or
Approved equivalent.

Professional recognition
Graduates can qualify for admission to legal practice as the course includes subjects approved by the Victorian Council of Legal Education. Admission as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria requires the completion of a supervised workplace traineeship (formerly referred to as articles of clerkship) or a practical legal training course such as that offered by the Leo Cussen Institute or the College of Law. International graduates would need the relevant visa to complete the articles of clerkship in Australia.
