Course description
This degree offers complementary studies from humanities, social sciences and economics. It helps students gain the knowledge and skills they need to analyse and solve business problems, and provides training in core areas of economics and their application to particular areas and policy issues.
Students can design a course that best suits their interests. For example, they might combine business, economics or international trade and finance with an Asian language, politics or sociology.
Economics specialisations include macroeconomics and microeconomics analysis and policy, business economics, international trade and finance, business models and forecasting, and resource and environmental economics.
Course structure
Students complete compulsory and elective subjects, including at least one major in an arts discipline - comprising 30 credit points in first year, 40 credit points in second year, and 60 credit points in third year. Honours in either course is available to students who demonstrate exceptional merit, and requires an additional year's study.

IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or
TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English; or
TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 213 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or
TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 80 with no individual score less than 20; or
Satisfactory completion of an English language subject at Year 12 or equivalent level. This must have been completed in the last two years and at an academic level acceptable to the University; or

Graduates of the Bachelor of Economics have a diverse range of career opportunities in large corporations, government organisations, administration, and the banking and finance industries. Within these organisations, graduates can work in areas such as policy, trade, international economics, development economics, environmental economics, public relations or international relations.
Professional recognition
By completing approved subjects, graduates may satisfy the educational requirements for professional accreditation with the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).
